I have spent most of my working life as a Teacher and Education Leader in a wide variety of locations and contexts.
Early in my career, I became absorbed by why our work caused some individuals to flourish while causing others to burnout. At first, I thought that this was about skill, technique and then temperament and personality. It didn't take long to realise that it was not that simple. I studied and travelled to spend time with amazing scholars and wisdom figures around the world. Before long I found that many others were also interested in sharing what insights surfaced in the process. Twenty five years on, I am still exploring this phenomenon with colleagues in schools everywhere and my enthusiasm is as fresh as ever. I no longer belong to a school community and as a result, I am enjoying great freedom to write, travel and work with anyone who is interested. Feel free to contact me to explore these "Matters of Great Importance" together. |
